Lindsey Reiman Transcript
[00:00:00] Terry: All right, guys, I am here with the CEO of Aqua Regia, the co founder of the SQ Institute and the director of the Bethel Prophetic Ministries there in Redding, California, Lindsey Reiman. Lindsey, thank you so much for coming on the show.
[00:00:15] Lindsey: Yeah, I'm excited to be here. I love hearing people's stories and I'm thrilled to share mine.
[00:00:21] Terry: Well, I, I appreciate that. I'm looking forward to it. I heard you on Kris Vallotton's cultural catalyst podcast a couple of months ago. And as I was telling you before I hit the record button, you didn't go super deep into like your history, your story, but there was something there. Right. I just kind of felt the Holy spirit, just like, prompt me to reach out to you to see like, Hey, like there's something about this, this girl's story that, you know, that she's not talking about in that episode that, that needs to be heard. And so reached out to, uh, the SQ Institute and, uh, they got me connected with you and here we are. So I'm really looking forward to this, Lindsey.
Uh, I read. Some of the blogs that you have on your website that kind of give a background on your journey to faith too. So I got a little bit of a primer, but we're going to go, uh, full on into this thing here. So we always start at the beginning, Lindsey. So why don't we start with where did you grow up and what was family life like for you as you were growing up?
[00:01:15] Lindsey: Yeah, I grew up in three places. Uh, Kansas city, Missouri. Helena, Arkansas and Kalamazoo, Michigan. . Um, so yeah, moved a little bit and I am the first born of six kids. And, um, yeah, so always was in the house where everybody. Even though there was so many people already in our house, it was the house for all the kids like wanted to come hang out.
Like, so I grew up in just like constant chaos in the best way. I love it. Yeah. Anyone from a big family knows exactly what I'm talking about.
[00:01:52] Terry: Sure. Sure. What was the reason for, for the moves?
[00:01:56] Lindsey: Uh, my dad is a doctor and he had, we moved to Arkansas because he had inherited a practice. Basically. Um, uh, a friend's father had passed away and, and gave his practice away to them. So we moved, I was so young then. Uh, so we moved to the South and then honestly we moved to Michigan because my dad, um, went to India as like a doctor, not doctors without borders, but like just doctoring people up in India. And he had met a guy there, a friend who, uh, was, um, a believer.
And, uh, this guy became like a best friend, but also like a mentor. And he just was like, I think it's hard for men to like find people they can share with. And he was just so their friendship grew and he was like, I need to be around someone like this guy. And then they ended up finding like that guy lived in Michigan and he ended up finding a practice, like another situation.
So, uh, not in the same place in Michigan, but that's like what inspired the move. And, uh, yeah, I'm sure I'm so thankful for, I did high school and junior high in Michigan. It's a great place to grow up. Yeah.
[00:03:08] Terry: Yeah. What was that like for you moving? Like, how did you handle the different, uh, adjustments as you moved from each place?
I know you said you were pretty young when you moved to Arkansas, so I don't know how much that affected you, but what was that like?
[00:03:22] Lindsey: Yeah. I don't, I was too young to remember. I was five. So, you know, but, um, moving to Michigan, you know, I really think this is Lindsey saying this now I wouldn't have known that back then.
I think there was a grace on it because I feel like there, there's always like divine relationships in our life. And I feel like my dad's friendship with this guy who's a brilliant theologian and great man. Um, I think there was, um, and it was an important person for like, I think the discipleship of my family or my dad, at least, um, So I think there was a grace on it because my mom was always like, yeah, we were so surprised that the kids were like, cool.
We're moving. So, yeah, it was, uh, although I think as an adult, I can see the ramifications of moving around a little bit as a kid. There's some behavior patterns I have where I'm like, Oh, okay. Yeah. That's from moving around a lot.
[00:04:18] Terry: Well, maybe we'll get into those behavioral patterns throughout the course of our time here, but you're the oldest of six, Lindsey.
What is that like? And what has that been like being the oldest of all the kids?
[00:04:31] Lindsey: Well, listen, you know, I am not your classic. oldest child. I read the birth order book like a long time ago. Um, I don't, I don't know what I think is, I think something happened with me where I was like, I'm not that kind of person.
I'm not a type A. Um, and I wasn't a good rule follower. This is where the story begins. Um, so I didn't really like live that out. And because I, I will say they had three of us. And then there was like eight years and then they had three more kids. So they call us the A team and the B team. And so the B team, while they are my brothers and sisters, uh, we're such so much age gap that sometimes you're like, I feel like this, I, I'm not an aunt, but you feel like this distant, like a distant sister, which is kind of unfortunate, but big families.
Um, have that. So, uh, yeah, and I was a bit of a troublemaker, I guess you could call it. It was just really, I just had a thirst for adventure and, um, was very curious. And so I kind of feel, you know, I wasn't the greatest firstborn to follow, to be quite honest. In fact, when I did finally encounter God and I was like, I've met Jesus, a lot of my brothers and sisters were like, let's wait and see what really happens here, uh, cause I didn't have the best time. Uh, reputation with my kids, with my kids, with my siblings, as you would know. Yeah,
[00:06:05] Terry: sure. Sure. So yeah, you mentioned that you weren't really a rule follower. You were always of the adventurous, uh, kind of free spirit type. What trouble did that maybe kind of get into, uh, for you as, as you went throughout your childhood?
[00:06:19] Lindsey: Yeah. So, um, when I was 12 years old, I, One, I got drunk for the very first time, like, I had a group of friends, and we, you know, so we tried alcohol, there was also in this same time period, I had also had a tragedy occur, where two of my best friends were killed in a car accident. Oh man. So. You can see how this is connecting, but it wasn't until I was in my twenties that I saw how that connected.
Right. You think you're just, you're just young. You have these friends, you're trying things. So, um, and then when I, by the time I was like 14, of course, I was like trying like smoking pot, um, you know, sneaking, you know, drinking with friends, um, where they're innocently, but doing all of that, then eventually, um, I don't think this really happened until like my senior year, but then like rave culture was really big uh back then so going to Parties at like abandoned warehouses and like that whole world So yeah, yeah.
Yeah by the time I was in college. I was definitely experimenting with like Hallucinogenic drugs, ecstasy, stuff like that.
[00:07:35] Terry: Yeah. And what with, with your upbringing, Lindsey, when it came to that, you know, when I was growing up, we had the whole dare program. I'm sure you did too. And, you know, just say no. And, um, that didn't really seem to work for, for most people, but for you, I mean, you mentioned you got drunk at 12 for the first time, um, when it came to substances and alcohol and things like that.
What was kind of the culture around you surrounding that? Like was it something where it's just like, eh, you know what, kids will be kids, you know, go for it. Or was it, you know, was your family very like, Hey, you will not do this, you know, kind of preaching at you from a young age not to do it?
[00:08:12] Lindsey: Oh yeah. No, my par absolutely not.
They were like, when I got busted one time, like horrified. Also, my dad's a doctor and he used to get these like medical journals sent to the house. So he would always show us these terrifying photos of like, just like, this is what happens when you smoke cigarettes or these are STDs. Just like any kid. I know other daughters of doctors.
They've all been treated with the, look at this medical journal. Don't have sex, don't smoke cigarettes. Like stuff like that. Absolutely. I did not grow up in a house. My parents weren't big drinkers. Like I just didn't grow up in that kind of culture. It was definitely just like rebellious teenage. Type stuff.
[00:08:50] Terry: Yeah, sure. Sure. How how was school for you throughout that time, you know into your teenage years up until graduating What was school like for you Lindsey?
[00:09:00] Lindsey: Um School is great. I did I did well, um, I Was, uh, you know, there was a few years where I was very more like counterculture and senior year. I got more involved in school.
I was the homecoming queen, like kind of just like I was voted everybody's buddy. Like, you know what I'm saying? So I was just like, I loved people. Uh, and it's kind of funny. This will lead into my story. I love people. I loved music and I loved a good party, which is very indicative. Of where we're going to go.
So,
[00:09:34] Terry: okay. Okay. So then Lindsey, you graduate and you're in Michigan when you graduate, do you have any idea of what you want to do now that you're graduated?
[00:09:47] Lindsey: No. In fact, I remember when I, uh, like first week in college, like pick your major. And I was like, I picked advertising because it was at the top of the list.
And I had just seen some movie where a woman works in advertising. I think it was Jennifer Aniston. And I was like, I'll try that out. Like, I just,
[00:10:07] Terry: not a lot of thought went into that.
[00:10:09] Lindsey: Not a lot of thought went into it. I was definitely, I'm what you call a late bloomer. So like 17, I graduated, I was in college at 17.
You're like, well, I don't know what I want to do. Yeah.
[00:10:20] Terry: Yeah. Where did you go to college?
[00:10:22] Lindsey: So I went to Michigan State, um, for two years and then this thing happened. I also chose my college with not a lot of thought either. My friend was just like, let's go to Michigan State. So I was like, okay. Uh, and then seriously, this is, this was how it happened.
And then, um, I, something kind of woke up in me and I was like, I don't want to be in Michigan anymore. Like, why did I pick this school? Um, and so I was going to transfer out to Marymount Manhattan College, and I was set to do that, and then my parents were basically like, hey, we think you're a little too wild, like, and they were right, um, that was an accurate, very astute observation, so they were just like, I don't, we don't, we're basically not going to help you with college if you're going to, like, we just don't trust that you can handle this, so very last minute, I was like, Okay, well school's about to start in like two months or something like what am I gonna do?
And this is embarrassing instead of me being like i'll figure it out on my own I didn't and I was like i'll go to a school I'll go to this art school. I heard of in chicago that my friends were going that raving about um called columbia college, which is A really unique college where they have all the people that are teachers or professors.
They're actually still work in the industry that they're in. So, um, so they're like, there's no way that you can get into college this fast. Like it's too late. And I was like, challenge accepted. So I very quickly diverted plans, moved to Chicago and finished out my college at Columbia. And, uh. And so I did I live in Chicago for eight years after that.
[00:12:03] Terry: Yeah. Okay. And, and so did you graduate with an advertising degree or did you end up switching your major?
[00:12:08] Lindsey: Oh no, no. Yeah. I definitely switched. So at Columbia you get, I got a liberal arts classic degree, but, um, I had a focus on, um, basic basically had a focus on, um, like the music industry. They had like an arts and entertainment track.
And, um, that's how I started my career after that. I. I worked, I got, I started an internship at Atlantic records, and then I started bouncing around to different music industry positions and then later moved into TV film.
[00:12:40] Terry: Okay. Yeah. You mentioned, uh, that was part of your story, you know, music and raves.
Where did, where did that love of music come from?
[00:12:47] Lindsey: You know, honestly, growing up, my father, he loved, loved music. Mostly what he would play for us is. Mozart. He loved Mozart. He would take us to symphonies. He would take, I remember I went to the opera, my first opera, I must've been like nine years old or eight years old or something.
I'll never, it was the marriage of Figaro. I'll never forget it. Cause he's just like, these people are speaking in Italian. Like what am I doing here? I have such an appreciation for what he did with us as children then. But now, but when you were a kid, you're like, I don't want to go to the symphony again.
Um, but I think it, it instilled this love, um, of music in me. And then of course I love. I mean, I kind of grew into other genres outside of classical music and opera, but yeah, I think that was the kindling fire.
[00:13:34] Terry: Yeah. What kind of music did you get into throughout your teenage years and young adult years?
[00:13:41] Lindsey: Oh, well, yeah, I was very much into hip hop and like, that was a huge, that was a huge genre for me. Um, and I worked, I, I, for a while, um, I worked at this record store. Um, I was the only white person that worked there. There was two girls that used to make fun of me all the time, but he hired me because he thought it was interesting that I was like this young white girl who like, New, like the full catalog of all these different like rappers.
And so he was like, Lindsey kind of like, it was funny. He was like, you're our token white girl. And I was like, great. So I did that for a while. And then of course I really got into like techno Detroit techno. I got into drum and bass. Like I'm just dating myself now. This is a very specific back then.
They didn't call it EDM, right? Like later that genre turned into EDM, but like. And I lived, I grew up going to these now sort of infamous, they have books and documentaries about them, these raves that like in Detroit and in Chicago and got to see all these like great DJs and producers and kind of just grew up in that.
I would say hip hop and electronic music were very big in my growth or pivotal in my growing. Yeah, but I love, I love jazz. I love a good gritty blues song. Like I love, like, I love music, so I wasn't stuck there, but I worked in those areas too, so it was kind of part of it.
[00:15:02] Terry: Sure. Yeah. So you got a pretty eclectic taste in music, uh, from all sorts of genres.
[00:15:08] Lindsey: Yes. I hate the question. What kind of music do you like? I think now nobody can actually ask that question because we're not. There is no, there's no, like, this is my genre anymore, which I love.
[00:15:18] Terry: Right. Yeah. Things are so blended nowadays. Like you listen to country and it doesn't sound like country. It's, it's, it's more pop.
Right. And, and so it's interesting how music evolves. And you mentioned again, in college, going to raves, Detroit, Chicago. So when it comes to kind of living that rebellious, adventurous lifestyle, it sounds like that was still very much part of your life in your college years was, was living that way.
[00:15:43] Lindsey: Oh yeah, big time.
Yes, definitely.
[00:15:46] Terry: Okay. And then you, you said you got an internship at Atlantic records and I mean, I'm familiar with Atlantic records. I've heard of it. It's a pretty, you know, well known record company. What was that like for you?
[00:16:00] Lindsey: Yeah, that was great. I worked for a woman who like the, actually they called it the urban department.
I'll remember that. Um, and, uh, I got, you know, I had a small role, but I got to be a part of all these fun meetings and like. People that were, um, on that, then I remember we worked on, uh, this, they had two artists, uh, one of, and one of them was called nappy roots. And the other one was TI and they thought nappy roots was going to go big, but they were, as you know, we're wrong as he was going to blow up.
So I got to be a part of that and some other many artists, and that was really fun. And then a thing I will never forget. This was a point, there was a point and, um, Where basically the music industry was dying, right? Like, so, like, Napster and all this, like, the electronic, like, um, digital music file sharing was happening.
And I'll never forget, there was people, like, literally sitting in their Range Rovers, like, crying. Like, the, like, people were losing their jobs. And then Brands came in. And so brands kind of became the like new they didn't become the label But they were like sponsoring and putting people on tours. And so I started Uh working with brands then and I would throw parties and get sponsored.
Um to do these parties with like these musicians or DJs and like, um, so that was like a big thing. I'll never, if anyone from my era is listening, Toyota Scion. There were so many of us that live off of Toyota Scion money. It was hilarious. That was like a specific area. Yeah. I'll meet. Well, they'll be like, oh my gosh, I got involved with that Toyota Scion stuff too.
And I was like, yep, we were all eating off Toyota Scion money.
[00:17:42] Terry: Wow. So here you are, I mean, you're, you're obviously in your early mid twenties and you're working with some pretty big name artists. Uh, Lindsey, what was that like for you? Like, did you, did you kind of like allow yourself to feel that moment?
Or were you so just like in it and doing one thing to the next that you didn't even really take a stop to smell the roses, so to speak.
[00:18:05] Lindsey: It was dangerous. So fun. Uh, there's definitely moments of stopped. They were definitely like, um, I mean, there were some people that I like got to like, I mean, I want to cover things, but people that I got to like, you know, uh, hang out with host them, like, so that we're just like, I remember like, I'm like, I can't believe this.
I'm like actually nervous to meet these people, like these musicians. I listened to their music all day long. You know what I mean? And that was amazing. And then there was also just like, Um, and then there's, and then it's, you know, so there's like the big ones where you're like, this is crazy. And then you just kind of started getting used to it a little bit.
So I, I gotta tell you, I, I look back now and I see how God's hand was on me and certain things were happening that were not normal. Like, I just thought like, oh, this is just my life. Like. Um, and people will be like, your life is not normal, Lindsey. You're like, Oh, okay. All right, cool. But yeah, it was a blast, honestly.
I mean, I got into so much trouble in my twenties, but I don't know if I would take any of it back. It was a lot of fun.
[00:19:10] Terry: Yeah. You, you mentioned when I asked that question, the first word out of your mouth was, it was dangerous. Can you, to whatever comfort your love to whatever level you're comfortable with, what was dangerous about that period of your life?
[00:19:23] Lindsey: Um, well, everything was just all. Always a party, and then when you are with people who have a lot of power and access to anything, like, anything goes, right? So, I was definitely, like, at this point, I, here, here's also what's dangerous, like, I definitely started, um, I, I participated in experimental drug use a lot.
Like, I never felt like I was an addict. I was never, like, under a bridge, like, getting my next hit, you know what I mean? And neither were the people I was around, right? They were all actually quite successful. Um, but what is addiction? Because we were all always cruising on something, you know what I mean?
But it was Which believe me, eventually has a payoff. But when it's hard because you're in these people's, you know, you're like doing these big parties and like, there's so much like money around and like access to things. And it feels like beautiful and easy and everything's always fun. So you're just like, Oh, this isn't like how the movies made it out to be like.
Nothing, there's nothing, but eventually I call it party chaos. Eventually you keep messing with that. Like the chaos will appear like after a certain point, like it's going to get, you're going to get bit. So yeah,
[00:20:42] Terry: yeah, definitely. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You play with fire. Eventually you're going to get burned.
Right. And so, and, and so here you are. Yeah. I mean, you are kind of living the dream life maybe for, for most people at that stage of life, right? Did you feel. A sense of like fulfillment and accomplishment at that point in time of your life, Lindsey, or were you just so kind of focused on, you know, the next thing, the latest and greatest thing, like, again, like, I'm just trying to get inside your mind here.
Like, to me, like, like you said, you know, the life that you were living. Isn't normal for most people at that period of, of their lives, right? They're, they're, you know, twenties, so to speak to be hobnobbing with all these, you know, big time names and stuff like that isn't necessarily the normal thing. And so did you feel accomplished?
Did you feel satisfied or did you feel maybe kind of empty? So,
[00:21:38] Lindsey: uh, it took a while for me to tap into that. So I've, you know, life was just a. It was so fun and adventurous. Um, but, uh, this thing started happening where I would start to have panic attacks. Okay. So you're like, where's this coming from? Um, and so I would start always at weird times, like nothing's going on.
I'm not stressed out about anything. And, um, I'd be like driving my car or, uh, just at my house or getting on the train. Uh, in Chicago going somewhere and suddenly would be hit with this sense of doom and like if anyone's ever had a panic attack before it's like there's You feel like you're going to die, but you're breathing and nothing's wrong.
And it's the most, I mean, I understand what was happening then now, but not then. And so, um, when that started happening, I was like, okay, like I got a, something's something's off. Right. And you, and I'd, I'd always be like that. I started Googling all the time. I'd be like, can mushrooms give you panic attacks?
Like, like, you know, trying to figure it out and solve it and. Um, the truth is, I think I was like a hustler. I was involved with so many different things and like, just trying to make it like career wise and create and, um, the panic attack thing was very, it was the beginning of the awakening of like, okay, this is not like I, this is not fulfilling me, something's going on and also just unhealthy for you either.
[00:23:20] Terry: For sure. For sure. Yeah. What, as far as the panic attacks, like how frequent were those for you at that time?
[00:23:29] Lindsey: So, I remember my first one I had in 2001. I was getting ready to move to Chicago, I believe. Uh, you know, 9 11 had just happened like maybe a month ago. I wasn't stressed out about that. Like, we, I was upset like we all were.
Um, but people are like, Oh, you're having a panic attack. Cause there's, it's, it's nine 11, nine 11 and people are carrying anxiety. And so I was like, okay, I guess maybe I am. Um, and so then, you know, I remember like I had one like six months later and then like another year, like it started to like randomly increase, um, and actually got so bad one time I like, because I was.
Seeing and feeling things now. I have no grid for the spirit realm yet at this time. Okay, but so I'm like Oh my gosh, I'm hallucinating like this. One of the drugs is going off in me. I'm like wit to the emergency room I like went there like thought like I need help right and they're just like you're having a panic attack They gave me like Not Xanax, but something kind of like that.
And then I was fine. And then I felt like kind of dumb for going to the ER. Right. Like, okay. Um, and so that was a really scary time. Like that played out for a few years until finally I broke down and took medication for it because I was like, I can't, I can't live like this. Um, even, and I would try to stop drinking, smoking, like I would try to keep other things that I was involved in.
Um, but like, I didn't know how, I didn't know how to, like all in my circles, it's always around music, going to these things and even in LA when you're, I eventually I moved to LA, you're working, it's. Alcohol is everywhere. Like you meet, you meet for like a work meeting and you get a drink or you meet for a friend and like, get like, Being like, Oh, I want to connect with you means we're going to get a drink.
And then there's parties that you go to and then there's bands. It's just like alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. Um, so it was, and then also like much harder stuff that I had started to get involved in as well, drug wise, randomly. Um, because it's just, that's, I know in like other cultures, but if you're like in LA and you're working in arts entertainment, these things just appear like a lot, so, um, yeah, so that went on for a while and then I was on medication for like, I would say eight years, seven or eight years.
And that helps, like, even me out. Awesome.
[00:26:08] Terry: Awesome. Yeah. How are the panic attacks nowadays? Do you still deal with those at all?
[00:26:15] Lindsey: So, um, When I had my encounter with Jesus in 2014, um, I shortly after that, like, I had my radical encounter, uh, it was in Bangkok, Thailand. I came back to L. A. And, um, I was sitting, sitting in this loft downtown, right?
Uh, downtown LA and my friend's loft, we're just hanging out and, uh, the presence of God fills the room so strongly that suddenly I start to speak in a spiritual language. Like my spiritual language just comes out, right? My friend's sitting across from us. I need you to know we're not doing anything spiritual.
I was watching the Mindy project on my iPhone and she was renting a car. Okay. This isn't, there's nothing spiritual going on here. Uh, all of a sudden you just, it was like, boom. And I was like, I started to speak in my spiritual language. And then my friend's sitting there. She responded and her spiritual language.
And then we kept going back and forth. And in between, I was like, it feels like we're talking to each other. And she's like, I don't know what's going on. Keep going. And I sat there and all of a sudden it was like, um, uh, I went into a vision with the Lord and, um, he was like, I got you and we, it was like, suddenly we were on this plane and we jumped out of the plane, like, you know, the tandem skydiving.
And we jumped out of the plane. All of a sudden it felt like, um, I don't know how to describe this. Like lead was coming up through my body and a very guttural, smoky sounding voice, like went, like, like came out of my mouth [00:28:00] and then the Holy Spirit said, stand up and I was like, okay. And he was like, stand up and walk across the room.
And when I walked, I felt like I could barely move my body. I was like this. And then I fell to the floor and I felt this thing go boop and I felt light as a feather and I go And I was like, oh my gosh, and then the lord just said um So he said, stop taking your medicine. The medicine that I had taken for like seven years that had evened me out.
He's like, stop taking your medicine and you'll no longer have panic attacks anymore. Oh my goodness. So here's what I need you to know when you've been taking it, they're called SSRIs, uh, when you've been taking something like that for like seven, eight years, you can't just quit those, like if you. Stop, like I would sometimes miss a day and you get these strange feeling like in your head Like you'd have like pops in your head.
You'd feel nauseous. You have to wean off But I was just like I was a new believer I was radically obedient and I was like the lord told me this i'm doing it and I remember and I just stopped and there Were no sensations at all and I kept going like One week, two weeks, three weeks, four weeks. I remember I got on zoom with my dad, my doctor, father, and I told him what happened out there.
I was a month and he's like, you can't just stop taking that. And I was like, I did. And I feel great. And I haven't had a panic attack. And now I'm here with you in 2023. Um, and I haven't had a panic attack since. Wow.
[00:29:25] Terry: Praise God. , ,
[00:29:26] Lindsey: I'm not gonna say that all panic attacks are spiritually influenced. I don't know.
There's a lot of mystery, okay? I leave room for a lot of mystery and I believe that, I don't think Western medicine is evil either. Like, I just, I think we, I think the church is too black and white. Yeah. Um, but in my case, I mean, I had a lot of doors open. I was, I had done a lot of drugs. Um, and so in my case, there was some kind of spiritual.
Influence that was happening, which makes sense because there was that time where I was starting to see and feel spiritual things. I just didn't know about people seeing or feel. I didn't know about that. Okay. So if you're seeing something that's not there, I'm like, I've taken too much acid. I need to go to the emergency room.
Cause I'm hallucinating. Right. So. Um, yeah, so then that happened and, and I've been fine ever since. So, wow. Well,
[00:30:24] Terry: that's an amazing testimony in and of itself right there, Lindsey. My goodness, that's, that's incredible. And there, there's no limits obviously to what God can heal. And yeah, you, you know, we, we kind of fast forwarded a little bit in your story to get to that point of when you were saved and when you had that experience, but picking up where we were, you were still, you know, in, in, I think Chicago, uh, living.
Your best life at that time, right? And, um, you mentioned that faith really wasn't on your radar at that time. So what was faith like for you through, up until that point, you know, throughout your childhood, young adult years, what was your faith background?
[00:31:02] Lindsey: Yeah. So, um, I thought faith was, you believed. In this invisible god, and you followed rules, like, and when you die, you were gonna find out if it was real or not.
Um, I didn't know that you could Oh my gosh, makes me wanna cry. I didn't know you could hear God's voice. Um, I didn't know about the Holy Spirit and I, uh, yeah, and I, I remember I was five years old. I was in a church. I was, I was five years old. I was in Arkansas and, uh, I don't know how to explain this. I was just sitting in church and I looked around at all these people that were singing out of like a hymn book and I was just like, I don't think I'm buying this.
And it was from that point over that I just like, didn't really. I just, I didn't like, I didn't like Christian music movies. I didn't like Christian music. I was like, listen, I just don't know if I can get into Jesus. Cause I don't like his music genre. That was honestly, that was where I was at. Okay. Pretty superficial, but, um, but it was real.
So, you know, but there were one things I, as a child. Uh, between like five to 14, I would have terrible nightmares. I would have nightmares about the end of the world. I would have nightmares about like, um, creatures like that, you know, like probably angelic and demonic. Um, I would have dreams that later I remember, I remember some of them are actually biblical.
Like, oh, like, like it always being night and the moon turning to blood, the moon bleeding. Like, that's like Isaiah, you know what I mean? But I. So I had a lot of fear and I didn't, I'd experienced Christians saying really scary things. Like, like when Jesus comes back, there's going to be blood running here till the Mississippi.
Like I remember some woman said that to me and I was like, that sounds terrifying. Like, so, um, and so I just, I didn't want anything to do with it until something scary would happen. Like, uh, have a panic attack or something. And you're like, God save me. You know, But other than that, I just wanted to like I honestly would sometimes walk around and have this thought like when am I gonna give my life to jesus?
I guess on my deathbed that feels like the safest like I would be like that's because I just didn't think Jesus was any fun. Yeah.
[00:33:32] Terry: And that's what it sounds like kind of the, the main thing of your life was at that point in time was fun. What, what's the next thing that I can do to have fun? What's the next thing that's going to help me to, to just feel fun and led you, you know, to where you were, you know, up until this point in the story.
So Lindsey, you're, you're, you're in Chicago, the Detroit area. At what point then do you head out to LA?
[00:33:57] Lindsey: Yeah, um, so I head out to L.A. around, I think it's 2007. Um, such a strange thing. I, uh, just I very, uh, impulsively moved. I was consulting at this time. Someone taught me how to do consulting. I was working with this, um, comic book company that also had like a creative agency attached to it.
And I was involved with those guys and we had gone to Comic Con for that. They had gotten picked up by William Morris and, you know, comic book movies haven't totally blown up yet, but have there is it's happening. It's not like it is now, but so they were more of like a indie publisher. Um, and I remember we were sitting, I had spent a lot of time in New York.
Um, so it's just like a party girl to be quite honest. But, um, I also worked for a media company for a while that would like keep sending me to New York and, um, I had friends out there. So I, when I, for a long time in Chicago, I was like, I think I'm going to move to New York next. And so I'm in San Diego.
I'm with my boss and he goes, okay, now that we've been picked up, uh, by this agency, like we should open up another office either in New York or LA, which one do you think we should open first? And I went to say New York and then heard myself say LA. And it was the weirdest thing. And I was like, almost like I want to, and he was like, I knew it.
You're right. Yep. Let's do it. Let's do LA. And I was like. What did I, what did I just do? And then before I knew it, four weeks later, without much thought planning anything, I just moved to LA. I had, I had one kind of friend, a girl I went to high school with. That was it. I knew nobody. And I just, and I just ended up there.
Um, and so I had worked in the, that was, uh, then 2008 hit like, and everybody, like the economy crashed and we lost our jobs and. Um, and then eventually, uh, I ended up like everybody, I ended up like a cliche in TV film. So,
[00:36:01] Terry: well, let's pause there. You, you were into comics for a little bit there. And was, was that something that you were at all interested in, uh, prior to that point?
Obviously music was big for you, but did you grow up on comics at all?
[00:36:15] Lindsey: I didn't actually, I just sort of landed in, we used to joke that I was queen of the nerds. Um, but I actually grew, I actually got a. An amazing education in the world of graphic novels, um, and have like actually learned about so many amazing authors and it's, there's so much depth to that actual whole area.
And so kind of became more of a fan then, but I wouldn't say I'm, I'm not an expert on it or anything, but yeah, that's how I, I just kind of was always in some kind of entertainment. Land that's how I ended up everywhere. I went. Yeah.
[00:36:47] Terry: Yeah. I mean, and like you said, you, you eventually got into TV and film in 2008, but what was that like for you, Lindsey, 2008, obviously everyone that was around knows that that was just a really sucky time for pretty much everybody.
The economy crashes here. You are, you know, LA. Kind of on a whim, just, just moving out there and now everything kind of goes south, you know, from a financial standpoint, and maybe even from like a security standpoint for you as well in that regard. What was that like for you navigating through that time?
[00:37:19] Lindsey: Yeah, that was, uh, well, I lost my job and then I was like, okay, what's next. Right. Um, and. Something that's really interesting happened. Um, I, I was just in LA. I didn't have a good friend yet. And I remember I said to God, I go, Hey God, if you're real. I would really like you to do something for me. I need a friend.
That's what I said. I was like, and um, and I was, I was really starting to hunger to leave my lifestyle behind, but didn't know how to. So I had a lot of associates and people I like partied with or went to shows with, but they weren't friends. You know what I mean? I was like, so I was like, can you please bring me a friend?
And he answered because shortly after that, um, I, in a elevator at a grocery store, I met a friend. This was my first, um, who she had just moved there from Ohio and she was a Christian. Now I didn't really know much about her yet, but this was the beginning of God starting to surround me. And I remember she gave me a verse.
I can't remember which one it was now. Um, but it had to do with money. Um, I remember, Oh, I wish I remember which verse it was, but basically it was like, uh, what can man, it ends with like, what could man do to me? Like God is my provider. What could man do to me? And, um, I started saying that verse over and over again.
She gave it to me. I put it on my fridge and I just would say it. I was in, you also know, LA is very spiritual. We're down for all sorts of stuff and like declarations and mantras. And so I just was like, I'm going to, you know, say this every day. And then, um, this crazy opportunity happened for me to like a job appeared.
It was like a gig to tide me over until I got into my. First like real salary paying job again, and I was like, I remember thinking like I feel like saying those words might've done something, right? Like, I'll never forget that. Like, it felt like it was doing something for me. Now, here's the thing. I wish I could have been like, the Bible, I love Jesus.
That's not what happened. It was like, I think a lot of people's journeys are, they're messy. It's like one foot forward, four steps back, two, a few steps back. And so she would invite me to church and, um, and I would sometimes go, I would like go. See some concert or show or party with someone and do molly and then go to church the next day Like I that's just where I was like, I was just trying stuff out, you know, um, but uh, yeah She's actually, it's so funny.
Well, we won't get into like what God has done with her, but she has like a whole ministry now all through on Instagram through her dog, like 2. 5 million followers. Yeah. Like an unconventional looking dog. Uh, and she brings Jesus to people sort of like without them expecting it. Wow. Through her dog. It's a crazy story.
But yeah. So, anyways, yeah. So that was, that's, 2008 brought me a friend, actually. I like lost all my comforts, money, access, jobs, I don't know what I'm doing anymore. And I prayed. Like, can you send me a friend? And then he did. And he sent me a friend who loved him. Which is Very strategic. Yeah,
[00:40:47] Terry: no, that's amazing.
It sounds like, yeah, there was definitely seeds that have been planted throughout your life, you know, here and there where it doesn't sound like there was at any point in time where you just like completely turned away from God, but that you would kind of remember some of those seeds that were planted and would turn to him in times of desperation.
It sounds like to just like, God, can you, can you please just. Like you said in that situation, give me a friend and he did and man, he, he over delivered by giving you a friend who was a believer, but like you said, you didn't just go full into Jesus at that point. And I like what you said, there's a lot of people's walks are messy like that.
We take one step back or one step forward and then like four steps back. Right. Uh, but, but there's still that, like. Uh, just kind of hunger there that, that discontentment that, that we're kind of getting a clue that man, nothing else is filling it, but Jesus, he's every time I reach out to him, he's kind of filling that.
So maybe there's something there. Don't want to pursue that now, but I'll kind of put it in the back burner, so to speak.
[00:41:43] Lindsey: Totally. Yeah. Not living. Not living a righteous lifestyle at all, but still being like, I'll get to you at some point. Yeah.
[00:41:54] Terry: So then you get into film and TV. And so what was your role in, in that industry?[
[00:42:00] Lindsey: Uh, so I would, I started out, um, in casting, uh, for a reality show. I was just, uh, like, and that was great for a second. It was for food, a food show. And then, um, and then I'll never forget after that it was very, it's a very well known food show. So it's great because you got to have these chefs come and we'd interview them and they would always bring you like wine and food to try to like suck up to you.
I mean, I had no actual power in their choice of getting onto the show or not, but I took all their food and wine. Um, and that was fun. Um, and then I, cause I was with this producer or this casting, um, Person and um, they were like Okay, now we're going to work on this new show, and I want you, your first job, this new show was about taking, um, what they would call, like, C or D list celebrities, and have them undergo, that were considered not as attractive as other celebrities, and have them do a before and after plastic surgery.
Makeover. So my actual first task was, can you find me some C and D list celebrities who need to have their face reconstructed? Oh, wow. And. Right. So I remember sitting down to go start making at first, my brain's like, okay, I need to go do this. And then as I started Googling people and trying to make calls on who is quote Beautiful or what is beautiful?
I was like, I feel so gross inside like I don't want to do this So I quit. I was like, I'm out. I can't reality. I loved the food stuff, but I wasn't married. Like you have to keep working on other shows. And I was just like, I don't want to do this. Um, and so then, um, I got, I, I kind of, uh, started, uh, someone gave me a book, actually, all these people would meet me.
There was this thing on my life where I was really good at getting people jobs. Like connecting people. I don't know what it is. Well, I know what it is. It's the prophetic now, but I would see people and I'd be like, Oh, they're good at this, this, and this. You should talk to blah, blah, blah. And I mean, I once got twice.
This is actually, I've been twice. Now that I think about it, I've been hired at companies because I made a. sale before I even worked there. Like I was like, Oh, this company, you should talk to this company. And then they were like, you should work here. Like that happened. That happened one time. And then the other time there was a PR company that I wanted to work at.
And she was like, we don't, I don't have, we're not hiring right now. And I was like, do you need more clients? And she's like, yeah. And so then I brought clients. So I just had this thing and people would be like, Lindsey, I feel like you're a producer. And I was like, well, what does a producer do? And so one day I was at a garage sale and, uh, in LA and this girl had a book called what a producer does.
And I was like, Oh, perfect. So I got it. I read it like in a day. And I was like, I can do this.
Just bold. So I just started putting, I was like, I want to work, um, for a producer and. Uh, I ended up doing some I got to be a producer on like some small comedy sketch videos This was in the time that like funny or die and comedy sketch like on like youtube was getting really big, right? So I got to be like producer on some like comedy sketches, which was great one time one of my jobs was just to find a Recipe for vomit.
There's no like, how do we make fake vomit? Like there's no business like show business And then I and so that was great. And then I got to I got a position With, um, a producer in a film finance company. Uh, so I came in as his executive assistant. Uh, so I, like, got, like, big roles on small things and then got, like, a small role on a big thing.
And I got to literally like read scripts and be like, I think that, I think that you should fund this script. And then quickly then I grew and I got my first associate producer credit on a romantic comedy. Um, and then, uh, eventually, uh, this opportunity came for me to work on a television series for a writer that I really loved.
And so then I transitioned to that and it was just so, I loved. I love storytelling. Um, and I also just love to get people in the right places. Like I love to, to make the connections and I'm kind of good at it.
[00:46:40] Terry: Yeah. Well, like, like you said, it's, it's, it's prophetic now, now that you know that as a believer, it's prophetic, but that's like a gift that God has given you.
[00:46:48] Lindsey: Yeah, exactly. So, uh, so that was, So that's when I was like, Oh, I'm thinking like, I'm like, I can do this, right. And I'm kind of trying different things out and getting in and, and working with some brilliant people. And then I met Jesus.
[00:47:06] Terry: Well, let's, let's get into that. But before we do, I want to back up a little bit, uh, that, that whole.
Casting call, as far as finding me those, those C and D list celebrities that are basically ugly and need to get reconstruction surgery. Good for you for, for quitting that. My, my goodness. That's, uh, that's, that's quite the job right there. And that, that got me thinking. So you're in the industry and I mean, you're not in front of the camera per se, but you're in the industry.
And we all know, I mean, it's all image based and things like that. Did that ever affect? Do you like, did that ever bring out any insecurities in you or any, just kind of struggles within you as, as you were working in that industry? Oddly,
[00:47:48] Lindsey: no, I never really, that, that image, I mean, I would hear, I would be sad that that was happening, but I didn't have like an I mean, I definitely had issues, but that wasn't, I was never really like attacked by that.
[00:48:02] Terry: Yeah. Okay. Praise God. I was just curious. Cause again, just not being in Hollywood myself, just from the outside looking in, it's just like, it is very image based. And uh, so I was, I was curious, but praise God, his, his grace was over you in that regard. Um, like you said, you, you had other stuff going on at that time, but, um, that one wasn't one of them.
So, so praise God for that. You meet Jesus. And, uh, again, like I said, I, I was earlier today going through, uh, the little blogs that you had written on your website, which, uh, I, I loved reading by the way, I love, love how you write and, and your sense of humor. Um, Quite the story. So, so let's get into it.
You're in TV and film. You meet Jesus. How does that happen?
[00:48:43] Lindsey: Yeah. So it all started with the musician Prince. Do you know Prince? Oh yeah.
[00:48:48] Terry: I'm in Minnesota. I'm in Minnesota. So we know Prince. You're in
[00:48:52] Lindsey: Minnesota. Okay. All right. So homeland. So, um, the year is 2014. I had just come back from Burning Man, um, and, uh, Prince, uh, well, sorry, not Prince, sorry, um, In LA in the summer, there's this thing that this company called CPI does where they do, they show movies in the cemetery.
It's like a, it's an LA staple. You go with blankets and you have a picnic and you watch a movie on a big screen right outside. It's really fun. It's a tradit, a summer tradition. And so they were gonna show, um, purple Rain. Which is Prince's 1984 rock drama. Um, I love Prince, like definitely in like top five.
Um, I'd seen him play before. I saw him recently at the Palladium. He played for like. Five hours and like every instrument on stage it was talk about gifting and anointing honestly. So anyways, okay very talented, dude so So I everyone knows that prince does always these surprise secret shows That's his thing And so when they were doing purple rain and he had just played in la people were like prince is gonna show up, right?
and so it was like it sold out so fast and like questlove was djing and so it was like Everybody wanted to go. I didn't have a ticket last minute. Miracle. My friend, um, who we called my friend High Times. If that gives you, I had a friend named High Times. If that gives you any sense of what my life was like.
Last night was like, Hey, he was like, yo, I got an extra ticket to Purple Rain. Do you want to go? And I was like, Oh my gosh. So I'm like, Oh, this is going to be amazing. And I said to my friend, I'm like, I feel like Prince is going to show up. Like this is going to be something special is going to happen tonight.
So, um, I went with my buddy to Purple Rain, and so again, it's like all these people are there having picnics. Now remember, I told you about my friend that God had sent, the believer, right? Well, because of her, I had met some other people. Who were believers. All right. So he was like surrounding me secretly and uh, there was a woman, uh, there, um, that, that was how, that I'd met through her.
Her name is Katherine Warnock. Um, and she, I'm going to say, I said her name for a reason and I'll explain why. Um, and she had met me. Uh, and was like, Hey, we should meet for coffee, coffee, like every other week. And so I would meet with her and what I didn't realize, I know what was happening now, but I didn't realize what was happening is that she was discipling me, but she never taught.
She didn't evangelize. She didn't use language that I didn't understand. She just met with me. She asked me questions and she loved me. It's gonna make me cry. Uh, she just, she saw something in me. She was not buying the fake identity that I was rocking. Right. And so she was, she had reached out and said she was also having her birthday party at Purple Rain.
Right. So I was like, Oh, I need to stop by and go say hi to her. Uh, she had been working at a, uh, a church at the time, I think, uh, or fashion advertising. I can't remember. Uh, so there's a reason why I'm saying these details. So I go over to her. To say what's up, happy birthday, and she had a bunch of people there and there was this girl there at her picnic area Her name was Hannah and um, I just you know, you start having small talk with people So I'm just kind of at her little picnic party saying what's up?
And this girl Hannah was like this TV show that I was working on it was in its last season. So she was like What are you going to do now that it's over? And I was like, I don't know. I think I'm going to go to Thailand. I want to go travel, which was just like my MO. That's all I wanted to do is travel. Um, and she was like, she got really serious and she goes, I'm going to Thailand.
And I was like, Oh, no way. I'm like, we should meet up. Like thinking we're going to like stay at hostels and like meet boys. And you know what I mean? I don't know. And she got really serious. And she's like, yeah, I'm like going on this trip. And it's like all about like miracles. Okay, well, I read A Course in Miracles by Marianne Williamson.
Like, that language in LA is everywhere, right? So I'm like, awesome, love it! You know, and I'm kind of open to like, does the supernatural exist? Like, I'm kind of pursuing it a little bit. Um, and she was like, yeah, we like, We like go to bars and we like love on people and I'm like, I love bars. I love looking at people.
I, this is great. She's like, yeah. And then sometimes we do this stuff in the street where we do like, she was a dancer. So she's like, we do dance and painting. And I'm like, great. This, you guys are like a bunch of artists. I'm so down for this. Right. Uh, and like before I know it, she's like, yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to introduce you to the guy that's running the trip.
She's like doing a text and she's like, yeah, you should connect with him. Like, like you should come. And I'm like, okay, great. So before I know it, because I'm a seven on the Enneagram and I say yes to things and I don't think about stuff. Um, and like three or four weeks, it was a short amount of time. I find myself at the airport with these, this group of people from this place.
I don't know a lot about called the Bethel school of supernatural ministry. So I basically like, you know, crash a party. I basically crashed a Bethel missions trip. Now I don't know who Bill Johnson or Kris Vallotton is much less. The Holy Spirit and, uh, so I have entered into a trip with these people and I'm kind of like, to be honest, I'm like, let's see what happens, but I can leave at any time, you know, and, uh, this trip was supposed to be.
What she described, uh, what they call bar ministry and like, and like create and like artistic ministry and all this kind of stuff, they were supposed to do that when we land in Korat, which is where we first went, there was this miscommunication between their contacts in Thailand and they thought they were going to do more of a worship.
conference. So now what I realized I have landed myself into, remember, I hate Christian music. I don't like being in church. All of a sudden, this is my nightmare. So where I was like, I'm going to hang out with these guys at beers. I'll probably have a drink or so, like, I'm just going to, we'll figure it out.
You know, I am now just in a church conference where it's all about worship. And so I was like, what have I gotten myself into? This was a bad idea. This was not worth seeing Thailand for like, I should like, what should I do? And so, um, basically I told people like people, and I didn't know the songs and I don't know what worship is yet.
Actually that language is just not in my vernacular. Okay. I know about singing hymns out of a book. That's all I got. So they're worshiping and I am bored. So I would read the only book I had on my Kindle at the time was the four hour work week. So people were worshiping God. And I'm sitting there reading the four hour work week on my iPhone.
Like I just, I was like trying to be entertained. Um, and then things started to happen where like Um, people would suddenly like fall down out of nowhere and I'm like, what is going on? Right. And, um, and then, uh, people, they would go after healing, right. Praying for people and they, and people were claiming their pain went down from like a 10 to a 2.
And I would watch all this stuff and I'd be like, I don't know. I can't really verify that. So I was like, I kind of feel like these are theatrics. That's kind of where I was at. Um, And I'll never forget there was a moment where they asked us all to go on stage, um, to prophesy. I have no idea what this is.
We get on stage. The girl that invited me leans over to me and she goes, just know that you are loved and trusted. And I was like, to do what this girl, this girl takes the microphone. And she was like. She's, she's looking and she goes, I see a tree, right? That her prophetic link, she's prophesying. And I'm like, what tree, what is she talking about?
I have no, and I realized I have no idea who these people are and what they're doing, and they have no idea who I am. I was like, wait, what have I gotten myself into? And that started to be sort of clear because people would say things like. Um, the glory and I'd be like, what's the glory? And they would turn to me and be like, who's this chick?
And how did she get on this trip? Right. Like, and so, but there was something in me where I was like, I want this to be real. Like I want, I need, I was like, I'm still going to keep showing up. Um, and so then we, we traveled around and we went to, um, Phuket. And, um, this is where, this was the turning point for me.
So I've been with these people for two weeks now, and I have gotten to the point where I am like, there is no God. Like I think y'all are making stuff up. Okay. Um, I think these people falling down on the floor is just like people getting overemotional and traumatic. And I hated that when it came to churches and stuff.
Um, And I, I was getting really sad because I was like, Oh my gosh, none of this is real. And we're on this planet for a short time and then we're all just going to die. And this is going to be like, I was like depressed town. Like I was like this, I don't think this is real anymore. And then this young kid from Spain, his name is Johnny barn Ruther.
I'll say his name. Cause I feel like he's going to be like Billy Graham one day or something. Um, he joins the trip. And this kid carries healing. Like, and they've been going after it a little bit. But this kid shows up and he goes, Hey, some of you are walking around with back pain and it's because your legs are uneven.
And we're gonna pray for you, uh, for that to be healed. So he asks people to come forward. And I'm like, what's going on? I haven't seen this yet. And this old woman comes up and she has two very, like, so uneven legs that you're like, how are you walking around? Right? And so they seat her in a chair in front of me.
And I was like, what are we doing? What's going on? And my friend's like, command the legs to grow. And I was like, what? Cause I'm like, that is a phrase no one has ever said to me in my entire life. Command the leg to grow. Like, what are you talking about? Willis? So he's like, command the leg to grow. And I was like, you know what?
I'm just going to try it. And if not, then I'm leaving. So I go grow, nothing happened. And I was like, that's it. These people are crazy. I am out of here. And she goes, try one more time. And so I just go almost like, almost like I hate it. Even I was like, Jesus, we need these legs to match. Like, I, ugh, I have to say this thing, right?
That was my attitude. I need you to know. And then, I don't know how to describe this. I felt this wind go whoosh. And her legs suddenly were even. And everybody like jumps, everybody jumps out. They saw the legs grow. I could not see them grow. I don't know why. But I did see that they were the same length and this woman is crying and she's saying a bunch of stuff in Thai and she's taking my hand and she's putting my hand on her butt and I'm like what is going on?
Why is everybody crying? And she's putting the, why is this woman putting my hand on her butt? And so the translator runs over. He starts explaining, he goes, she's trying to explain to you that she was in a car accident when she was younger and it caused a curvature in her tailbone. She's trying to show you that it's even now.
And she's like, just weeping. And like, and I'm just like, what? And I'm like, and then, and so then, uh, so, so the guy grabs my hand, he goes, Hey, put your hand on this lady's leg. And I go, what am I doing? He's like, talk to, like speak healing to her legs. So I was like, uh, ligaments. Like, I was like, so I don't know what to say.
So I'm like speaking to her, like, and I start feeling stuff move around. I could feel it on her, like heaven surgery. And then she was like, now Thai people are not the most expressive. So she was like, I'm healed. Like in Thai. And I was like, what? And then she just walked away. And I was like, What was that?
Yeah. And then somebody goes, look at the floor. And I looked down and all over the floor where I'm standing and then up in on the piano and where the people were worshiping. Was sparkly gold glitter like everywhere out of nowhere This is the moment where I'm like cue the Twilight Zone music where I'm like doo doo doo doo.
I'm like wait What what is going on? And so I was like kind of in a daze and Like the next day, everybody was like, Oh my gosh, you saw your first miracle. They're like, so excited for me. I like in my story, I write, I felt like I needed an ornament that said baby's first baby's first miracle. Like, I was like, but the truth is.
I was like, I'm not convinced yet because I was like, look, maybe that woman moved her leg a certain way and it looked like it was uneven. And then even, um, maybe that that feeling of that woman's knee. I just misinterpreted it. Like, people think knees make noises. Um, and then the glitter. The gold dust everywhere.
I was like, it was, uh, end of November. So I was like, maybe somebody had brought a Christmas, like Christmas decorations that shook out somewhere somehow. And so I just was not convinced. And so I prayed this prayer that I is very dangerous. And I tell people that you should do it, but be, be ready for the consequences.
I said, Hey God, I just can't, I don't know if that's really you or not. And so in order for me to believe, if this is you, you're going to have to do something to me. And, uh, that was the challenge that I put out to him. And, um, the next day we went to Bangkok and, uh, there's so many things that happen. So for the sake of time, I think the first thing that's probably the most important, which was the tipping point was, um.
Um, you know, I, uh, that kid, Johnny, he did a, um, he did a, he spoke again, and he spoke about healing in Bangkok, right? And he wanted to do, and he told this crazy story about growing out this atheist's leg. Like this atheist was like, I don't believe in God. And he's like, God wants to heal you. And it's like, he grew his leg out longer.
And the guy was like, okay, I believe in God grow back, grow back, grow back. And like it went back in, which is not such a crazy story, but it's a much more beautiful story than that. Yeah. But. I was, I remember sitting there and I was like, how have I been alive for like 34 years and I've never heard about people's legs growing out?
Like what, has this been going on this whole time? And he's like, Um, he believed in impartation. And so he wanted to pray for people to carry it, like ask for healing. And we're going to pray for you to receive healing. Right. So he has a stand up and I don't know what an impartation is, but I think you stand like this.
So you can't see it, but I'm like this, like I have both hands and almost like, kind of like Egyptian. Okay. So I'm holding my hands out like, and he's just going around and he's praying for people. And when he gets to me, he just grabs my hand like this. And suddenly he goes to pray and suddenly he starts screaming and it and it kind of looks like he's being pushed down and he's like, ah, he's like screaming so loud and I'm standing there and then he lets go and he walks away and I remember I was like, these Christians are so dramatic.
It's literally my thought, right? And. All of the sudden, and I don't know how to explain this, except that it felt like two sticks, like rods of fire, inserted themselves into my hand and went into my arm. Like, and I remember I was like, Oh my gosh, and it was so, this is not a tickle or a sensation. This is like rods of fire have inserted themselves down into my hand and into my arm.
And I fell to the ground and all of a sudden I was like, I was just crying and I was like, all the stories are true because I would hear these stories of people's healings and I was like, I don't believe you even the stories in the Bible. I was like, I didn't think any of them were actually true. I thought they were beautiful Hebrew poetry and metaphor, but when you have fire sticks in your arms, you're like, okay, that version got pregnant.
The world flooded. I'm here for it. I'm down. I'm down. What do I do with this? You know, Yeah. And so, and then, so I sat there like that. And then the, the fire sticks just went away. I don't, and I remember I was so like, Oh my gosh, I told everybody. And that, and they're like freaking out. I'm like, what is, what is that?
I can't, that is crazy. And so then later that night at the church service, the, the lead pastor, he says the thing, I've never heard this before. He goes, if you want to be baptized in fire, come forward. And the craziest thing happened. My body ran to the front. Like I was halfway up there where I was like, what am I doing?
And is there a real fire? And oh my gosh, why am I up here? I there, I was the first, it's a huge church. I bolted to the front before anyone. So it's like a thousand people looking at me. So I'm like standing up there. I have my hands raised and I was like, I don't know why I'm up here or what baptizing fire is, but God, you better do something.
Cause this is going to be awkward. And I stood there and. It just, it felt, all of this, it felt like, uh, electricity just came over me and it was like moving around my hands, like actual, like, and I remember, I remember having, I remember, Looking at my hands. I was like, I'm an X Men. I was like, this is crazy.
This is so sci fi like, God, I cannot believe they're this fun. What is happening? The supernatural. There's our spirit realm. This is wild. And I was like, what do I do with my hands? Like, I was like, cause they were, I was just having this crazy experience. And he goes, give it away. And so then I just, here, this is me giving away.
I went like this. I was just like going, like flapping like a bird. I was like, what do I do? And when I did it though, I'm telling you, it felt like fire, like electricity was shooting out of my hands. And I'm like, okay, I got to go see my friends about my hands. I don't know what's going on. And I turned and there was one at this point, people have finally gathered to worship.
There's this woman behind me. And I like touch her. I'm like, excuse me. And she like fell to the floor and started like shaking and I swore. And I was like, Oh my, like, it's like, Holy blah, blah, blah. And I was like, call an ambulance. She's having an epileptic seizure. They're like, she's fine. She's fine.
She's fine. She's in a trance. She's fine. And I was like, what? And as I would move around people, this kept happening for a few days. People would just walk by me and they would just fall to the ground. Um, it was crazy so I was like and they're like and so I just started like praying for people and And, uh, that sent me on like, it was like a eight to 10 days, like seven to 10 days.
I wish I wrote down the exact amount of days I was in this walking encounter. I would experience the angelic, the presence of God. People would walk by me and I would, um, I would see like their lives, like I would see like rooms that they worked in. Um, or like their futures or things they were about to do, and I had zero prophetic training or tact at this point.
So I would just run up to people and be like, I saw you, I saw you in this room. And they'd be like, that's my bedroom. You're freaking me out. And like, you know, so. And so I was just kind of like very innocently and wildly, like just out of my mind, like, and, uh, I remember, uh, and then I remember when, uh, like the spike out my spiritual language, um, I, I was just, um, I was just praying for this guy and I felt, it felt like a punch in my stomach.
Okay. I was like, Whoa, what was that? And then this language. Just started. It was like I was throwing up words. Like I couldn't stop it. Right. And I was like, what is wrong with me now? I only know movies. And so I've seen the exorcist. So I was like, I think, I think there's a demon speaking through me, somebody pray for me.
And they're like, why do you think that? And I go, Oh, and then I started and they're like, You're speak that you're, that's the gift of tongues. You're speaking in tongues. And I was like, are you sure? I was like, it felt like something like hit me in my stomach. Like an alien. When like the alien comes out of Sigourney Weaver stomach, I was like, cause it, it was, it was big.
Right. And they're like, I was like, and it sounds so intense. And they're like, no, this is, you're, you're receiving your spiritual language. Uh, it's the gift of tongues. And I was like, okay, I don't know if I believe in it, but I guess I do now. Like what's the gift of tongues. And I couldn't. Like I couldn't stop speaking in tongues.
I would, I remember later in that week at one point during the day, I went to the mall at Bangkok and I would be an H and M and suddenly I would just start like speaking in my spiritual language. Like, why does Holy Spirit like shopping? Like why? Like uncontrollably. And then I started, um, and then this started happening, which the language that I've heard people in church culture use, they've used the word manifestation.
Um, Basically, I would just experience Something hitting me and I would shake violently. I would like, could not stop. Right. And, um, I couldn't figure out why it was happening. And I would like wear a shawl and I, because I didn't want to see that people, that I couldn't stop this shaking. And it was like intense sometimes.
And I remember saying to the pastor, I was like, I was like, I'm manifesting all the time. Um, when I'm in the shower, when I pee, when I get frozen yogurt, does the Holy Spirit like frozen yogurt? Like why? Like, cause I understood this concept of like, you're in worship and you hear something really true.
That's your body reacting to the presence of God. But I was like, it's happening all the time. Why is this happening? And I remember, um, I remember he said something really profound. He said, listen, I think that it's been like a dam and the Holy Spirit has like water has filled up and the dam has broken.
And so the waters are just wild right now, but soon it's going to calm down. And I was like, okay, cause I can't go back to LA like this. He's like, it's going to be okay. And I'm like, all right. And, um, and so it was just. And the, and the gold dust kept appearing and I studied it like a scientist. So it would, it would appear in my hands, right?
It would appear on our faces and our hands. And I would run to the bathroom and I would take soap and I would try to wash it off, right? And it would not come off. And then suddenly. It, it would just disappear. It, I, I have no explanation for this. I mean, I, I would, even if someone was like, Oh, I see it on your face.
I'd be like, it's probably my makeup. But when it showed up all over my hands and arms, or other people's, I mean, like, I was testing it. I was like, trying to grab it. It was almost like, it was like, not on top of your hands. Like, it was coming through. Like, it couldn't get it off. I don't know. I mean, I'm not, I'm just telling you what I experienced.
Yeah. I don't have an explanation for that. I really don't. Um, but my basically, and then I started, yeah, so I started like praying for people. People were getting Hill healed. I was like, Getting information about people. I was prophesying. I was doing prophetic acts, right? I'd be like, okay, you need to forgive your mom.
So hold her, hold her up. Like I was, and the team would watch me. Okay. They would be like, stand up. They were watching me cause I was just like running around doing ministry and they were like, how does she know how to do that? Because like, and they were like, we, they said, this confirmed to us That this, all of this is from heaven because you don't know anything.
Like, I don't, like I hadn't been taught on how to do healing or prophetic acts. I just start, I was just following the Holy Spirit. That's what I was doing. He was like, now do this, now do this, now do this. And, um, it was wild. And my I have not been the same since. Wow. What a trip. Oh, such a trip. So, the short of it is, then I, I go back to LA, uh, this revival starts in this, uh, in downtown LA in this loft building, like this crazy thing happens with me and these girls and I'm like, I can't really get into it, but I'm In LA, you know, working in TV, film kind of just still like, what is life?
Right. And then, um, And then God was like, okay, I mean, I was going to like parties. I remember I went to this like party, it was at this club or whatever. And I'm talking to someone and there's this girl and we, she starts asking me about my life and I start talking about God and she's like a demon starts to manifest in her, like her face turns and like this voice comes out and the guy that's standing with me is like.
We're like, what is going on? Right. Things like that. Um, uh, I'm trying, I'm practicing like word of knowledge and prophecy at like Starbucks or Fred Siegel or like wherever I'm at in LA. And, uh, I, I tell people too, I was like, I was kind of still figuring out like my sanctification process. So there was definitely like a year period where I was prophesying, but I was also still smoking.
So it was like such a vibe. I'd be like, You know what I see, it was, it was very intense, very, very moody vibe. Um, but then eventually God like shit me off to be, to be a system. He's like, Hey, you should find out about this church. Like that, you know, had such an impact on you. And so then I went to be a system and it's just been a non, honestly, my life has been more adventurous.
That it ever, that I, that I ever could have thought like all the counterfeit version of adventure I thought I was experiencing because I thought, quote, Jesus was boring, was. Was nothing and this poetic part of this story back to Katherine Warnock Who was this woman who saw me and was like, I'm not buying it I feel like there's more to you and like was like undercover discipling me It's so funny because I was working in TV film.
She was working at a church And now I work at a church and she became, um, she's the VP of content and the executive producer of a little show called The Chosen. Wow. Uh, which is becoming one of the biggest, most evangelistic shows. Like that show is like leading people to Christ. Yeah. And I'm just like, wow.
Like, and everything that The Chosen is doing. And I just can't believe like way back then, like, it's just like, when you step back and look at the story that's happening. It is so poetic. And also this, this poetic part. So remember my story starts in purple rain, right? Well, many years later in my second year of ministry school at BSSM, I get a download and I start through, I have several mystical encounters that led me to create a spiritual intelligence company called Aqua Regia.
Okay. And that, that's a podcast for another day. But like that, uh, that, uh, that little idea and company has completely changed my life. Um, but God has sent me on so many special missions with that. But, um, uh, the Lord gave me that name. And, uh, the thing about Aquaregia is that it's Latin. And it means royal water.
And I didn't figure this out until very recently. But I was like, wait a minute. My whole story begins With purple rain. Royal water. What color is the undisputed color of royalty? Purple. Water. Rain. Purple rain. Aqua regia. Royal water. It's the same thing. It started No. And, check this out. I discovered Prince put out an underground album called Aqua Regia.
Yes way. I am not kidding. I, I, I, listen, I did not figure this out until like a few years ago where I was like, like, And this is the thing that I tell people he is writing a story before you realize he's writing the story amen and and the fact that I was miss party girl and I remember going to I remember being at this party and we call them raves now but I was at this rave in Detroit I remember people were like just the way they were dancing and honestly I remember thinking Um, I wish church could be like this.
Like, I was tapping into the concept of worship, but I just didn't get it yet. Um, and the Miss Party Girl, whatever, it was kind of, uh, almost destroyed me, right? But then later, after I met God, He sent me back into the parties, where now, I mean, I've, I've had the opportunity to go into big Hollywood parties, um, and replace the psychics and prophesy there.
And so it's just so crazy. Like your life is like a parable, you know what I mean? Yeah. And he's, he's, he's looking at it and he's like, Oh, I can use this. Oh, I can use this. Like, I got that. We're going to connect the dots here.
[01:19:44] Terry: It's, it's, it's amazing. Cause only God can write it. Right. I mean, it sounds cliche, whatever, but it's true.
Only God. can connect the pieces of all of our lives the way that he does, because you, you just can't make this stuff up. Right. I mean, you talk about aqua regia and just all the, all the, uh, just connections there. And I think, uh, so in one of those blog posts, you wrote that you, you kept hearing a phrase, I think it was either before going to Thailand or after coming back.
What was that phrase?
[01:20:14] Lindsey: Yeah. So, uh, a friend, my roommate at the time, um, her brother had gone missing. And so I, this is one of the times where I was like, Oh, I know some people that can pray for you. Which was Catherine, right? Who went to this church that I got introduced to, went to, this is one of those examples where I went, I had done drugs before I done Molly, uh, and that, which is the name of a drug.
Drug, um, and then the next day I took her to church and I was like, Hey, these people can pray for you So we sat down and they were praying for her because she was upset because her brother had gone missing and he was a heroin addict So this was like a she was just like is he alive or is it pretty serious?
And so they were Bringing comfort and they were praying for her And while they're praying for her, I was sitting there and all of a sudden I kept hearing lightning strikes and purple rain floods the city. And I saw it, like I saw a city in a huge wave coming through, like as high as the skyscrapers. And, um, and Katherine was like, Lindsey, do you have something she like picked up on it, but I don't even know that.
Do you have something? I don't even, no one's ever asked me that before.
[01:21:27] Terry: Yeah. This is before Thailand. This is before you start having all these encounters with God. This is,
[01:21:32] Lindsey: this is before, this is before I've gone to Purple Rain, even this is before, and I, I was like, this is so weird. So I go, I do have something.
Because they're like, and they're, their eyes are big. They're like, oh my gosh, she's hearing God baby's about to speak, right? Like, and I go, I turned to my friend and I said. Lightning strikes and purple rain floods the city. Does that mean anything to you? Like, for your brother? And she looked at me and she goes, No, not really.
And I, and I remember being like, I gotta stop doing so much Molly. I was like, okay. I seriously am still a little bit high from the night before. My bad. Right? I was like, okay, never mind. And I forgot about that moment, right? But then I get an invitation to go to Purple Rain where I meet this girl, Hannah, who invites me to Thailand.
Like, I don't put those puzzle pieces together till after I get back from Thailand. It's something that left my brain, but I was like, wait a minute. That word was for me, lightning strikes, purple rain floods the city. And I still don't really Totally understand it. Like, am I purple rain? Is that my nickname?
Am I going to flood a city or like, or what is it, you know, or am I the city? And purple rain is like, but it was crazy that months later I ended up at purple rain. I get an invitation to go to Thailand and I encountered God in Thailand. Then I come back two years later. I started a spiritual intelligence company called Aqua Regia.
Which means royal water, which means purple rain, which is also the name of a Prince album. I just It's nuts. You can't make it up You can't make it up and I gotta tell you something when I moved to LA my dad told me he goes He was like when you moved to LA I was like, oh, that's it. It's Lindsey's a goner like he they just had I just was Just a hard.
I you know, I was just always at like some party I always had like a drink in my hand or a cigarette or other doing other drugs and then having panic attacks So they knew about the panic attacks and we're not dumb and knew about the drug use, you know And he just was like, oh my gosh, she's going to LA.
That's it. We've lost her but like he was and he and space going to cry but he was just like He goes, wow. He's like, it just shows me that God's ways are not our ways, which I'm like, of course I got to move to the city of angels to meet the Lord, you know? Um, and. You just, you, and my story, I really feel like I'm kind of a, like, um, a wrecking ball to the secular and the sacred, uh, and I don't mean to be, and I know that's a theological thing that people can get a little upset about, but I just know my story.
Like, he lured me with prits. Yeah. He, like, he, I mean, I've had. Encounters with him that will mess that mess will mess your theology up a little bit. So I and and he speaks to me He has spoken to me through movies and music that are not written by your top 10 dove winning Christian artists like so It just so that's kind of a little bit of my life message I think and I think one of the things that I Um, I think when that church that I was in when I was five, I, you know, I could be wrong.
I was five, but, uh, when I looked around and I was like, I'm not buying it, I'm not into this. Um, I, I, I just think, I don't think I didn't love God. I just think I didn't love religion. And so it took me a while to find. Jesus and have a relationship with God outside of religion. That concept was new to me.
Yeah.
[01:25:36] Terry: And so that's a good word. And, and so, man, I mean, there's so much to your story here, Lindsey, I could easily spend another hour with you here, but let's talk a little bit about aqua regia. I mean, that, that is your passion project. That's kind of your baby that you started. What is it that you do with aqua regia?
[01:25:55] Lindsey: Yeah, so, um, uh, so the first thing we did was I first started, uh, replacing the psychics at parties in L. A. So we would show up as a spiritual intelligence company and we would prophesy, uh, one of the most, the greatest adventures ever. And I could make a movie about that alone.
[01:26:14] Terry: That's like modern day, like Old Testament type stuff right there.
[01:26:18] Lindsey: Right? I know, I know. It's so Daniel, which is so funny because my middle name is Danielle. Um, like there's power in a name people research your name. There is. But, um. Yeah. And so people just like Daniel thought I was a magician or a psychic. Right. And, uh, just like Daniel, I would stand in Babylon or quote, Hollywood, and say the, like, I love the God of Israel.
The God of Israel still speaks basically. It's like the same thing happening. Um, but I would see the power of the prophetic and how, um, ushering in the voice of God, um, into people's lives. And, and, and how. It changed my life and how it, how it could change theirs. Like, you know, you would have, you know, and I'll never forget I had this director, like, break down crying.
Cause. God spoke so clearly to him and was healing something that he had been carrying for like seven years. I mean, crazy. Um, and so I was like, I want to keep doing this. Um, but I don't want to like this party thing. Like, I don't want to wait for my next party invitation. Like there's, I want to, how can I keep getting the prophetic into people's hands in a way?
Because not everyone's ready to come to church. Not everyone's ready to, like, meet with an evangelist or a pastor or a prophet. Like, how can I get it out there, you know? And so this little thing was born called the prophetic report. Um, and essentially, um, the prophetic report is a collection of written prophetic words done in a very beautiful stylized format.
[01:28:00] Um, that includes an interpretation analysis section, really, and, uh, but the twist is this. So I started doing prophetic reports and I was just playing in the prophetic. I was just very, I'm very childlike. Um, or I didn't think I was, but that's what people always tell me. So I guess I'm childlike, but anyways, I just have, I'm just like, Holy Spirit, like I like to nurture curiosity and I'm like, what, what should we do today?
You know? And so. I first would do these reports for people and just send it, send it to people in L. A. that were like hidden Daniels and Esters, right? And then I just, one day was like, I wonder what would happen if I like, didn't tell them who they were prophesying over. Because I, I wanted to start sending it to some people that I worked with and some of them are like, Google able, you know, and um, I didn't want them to succumb to flattery or pressure, or, you know, or judge them by some of their very public moral failures, um, you know, so I just created a code name and I was like, Hey, you're going to prophesy over mail to 99 today.
And at first people are like, what are you doing? And I was like, I don't know. Like. This is more fun, right? We don't worry, like, there's no way for you to know if this is God, like it has to be God, if you get something right. So let's do this, you know? So I would pick a person for us to send a report to, and I would assign them a code name.
And I would get like, you know, eight to 10 people to write a prophetic word, and then I would get them. And, um, and then what I would do is I started analyzing them. And this crazy thing would happen where people would prophesy. They don't know who they're prophesying over. And they also don't know what each other are prophesying because they're doing it through a Google form.
And sometimes they're not even in the same room. Sometimes they're not even in the same country. Okay. And yet patterns would emerge. And I would get really excited about patterns because I'm like, this might be an unbiased signal that the Lord is speaking. Right. So I would, um, so I would read the words and then I would pull out patterns.
I'd be like pattern alert. And I'd always say like, Hey, Any interpretation I'd be like three people said this I feel like you should pay attention to it But you must bring the interpretation belongs to the lord. So you must bring it to him for proper interpretation, you know I always like to do things open handed, you know, but i'm kind of like hey, did you did you notice this?
Do you notice four people are talking about a real estate transaction? I mean that's very specific look at it, you know um, so we started doing that and then I started, you know, they started developing I would pull out like Hey, these are your identity keywords. And like, these are all the gifts that people are saying you carry.
And then I would like compile all their foretelling, like into one section. Cause I'll quote, quote, Chris Belton, what you believe about the end affects how you behave in the middle. So like, I wanted them to have something where they'd be like, this is where I'm going, you know? And then I create a list of like actionable Intel.
Like, Hey, your word says that there's something for you in Spain, consider learning Spanish. Like I would create like little action items, like things for them to explore on partnering with. And so we started doing this. And again, at first it was just to encourage believers that worked outside the church.
Um, and that, which are most believers. And then, um, and then. Um, we got this opportunity to do a prophetic report for an actor who didn't believe in God. A friend of mine was like kind of part of his entourage. And um, she's like, Hey, you doing the prophetic report thing? Can we do this for, for his birthday?
Can you do, can you like do the code name thing? So nobody knows that it's him. And I was like, yeah, totally. So we do the thing. We make the report. Um, she takes it to his big, like his birthday soiree and there's like, um, I, there was a video and like, they, you know, they sang happy birthday. And then because it's Hollywood, they took the report, right?
I love my Hollywood friends. And they put it like in a metal briefcase to give it that like mission impossible vibe, you know? So they like set it down and they open up the briefcase and they're basically like, this is the prophetic. And he's like, what is that? And so they basically explain, okay, these people prayed for you, but we didn't tell them it was you.
And he's like, they don't know it's me. And they're like, no. And so they explained that and they're like, they prayed for you. And then they wrote down what they felt God was saying, like what God's heart was for you. And so a man who professes not to believe in God and the middle of a party. And he sits down and opens up his report, which shows you one thing.
Everyone is curious. Yeah. I, and I've done this enough, no matter what line of faith that you profess to, the minute I'm like, I feel like I'm getting a, like, I have a word for you. Like, they're like, what do you have? Right. They're just, they're curious what God thinks about them. And so I'm reading his report and then he started to do something that they had never seen him do before, which was cry.
And he was like, he goes. Even if these people did know it was me, he goes, there is stuff in here that nobody knows. Therefore it can only be from God. And it was just like this powerful moment. Then he started calling this a friend of his that was a Christian and And he was off to the races, right? But this was a very key moment for me, which was like, Whoa!
The report is evangelistic, right? I was like, this can usher people into conversations about God. Like, like, it's prophetic evangelism. And so then we got busy trying to find any dark corner of the world that we could send a report to. And I created, like, accidentally, I called it my network of spies. But all it is is Once I just, I'd be like, Hey, we want to send a report to so and so.
Can you find me an in? And it would just go like, like the kingdom mafia would like rise up. And we were able, we have been able, I keep things confidential, but we've been able to send reports to some pretty. Wild people and all different kinds of spheres of influence some that even christians have Conspiracy theories about and I got to tell you doing a blind report for these kind of people that are quote not liked by christians is really humbling and I Have people in my team that are on both sides of the aisle Um, politically and they would get destroyed when we would ever do a report for some, like one of their people that they don't like, you know, when they would read it.
They'd be like, Oh my gosh. And even though my team would challenge me and be like, well, you know what? You have to judge words. What part is actually God and what part is us? How do we know if any of this is how God feels? And I'd be like, fair. Let's see if some of these prophecies come to pass. And here's what would happen.
Like we got busy making reports for certain people. And then we started Google alerts and paying attention to the news. And stuff happened and also words of knowledge in there like words of very not like you have a brother word of knowledge. Okay, I'm talking like specific words of knowledge that were very easily researched and accounted for not the ones you're trying to make right like Big things and we were like, oh my gosh And that would build because I'd be like God if you're in this I need words of knowledge and things come to pass to be Like is this how you feel about these people and when you so then I my faith would build and I'd be like Oh, this is how God feels about this person this person that actually the church has quote demonized And I'm not saying that people don't make choices that aren't great I'm just saying the point of prophecy is to call what's not into what is the Lord does not see the way we see remember when, remember when, um, he sent Samuel to anoint the next King and he tells, warns him, like, I do not see the way you mere mortal see, he thinks it's like the tall, good looking one.
Right. But actually it's the one out in the field. So he sees, it's He thinks differently than we do. He calls Nebuchadnezzar, my servant, like, which is nuts. Like his, he just feels differently. And also he sent Jesus. For a reason like he sent jesus to see us through the cross We're in our religious political stances, right?
Like completely leaving the seat of mercy and love that actually he carries for all of us So it's okay to disagree. I'm passionate about certain things. I stand strong on certain issues um, but I Believe it's important to honor and respect. Yeah. And, uh, and doing these reports have even revealed things in my own heart where I've been like, Oh Lord, I repent.
I'm so sorry. Like, uh, and that's what I love about the blind method. Um, I think it's a really great training tool. I teach classes where I would do training. It's good to be informed too. You could of course prophesy over someone, you know, no one is better than the other. I just think you should do both and like, and measure and see, see how it goes.
So. We've been doing that. AR used to be very shut. You had to have a password to get a report to get into the website and get a report. It was very locked down. Then in 2020, uh, the Lord said, take the password off the website. And I was like, that's so weird. Cause everything's closing down and you want me to open up.
Okay. And so we did. And so now people, um, can like order reports. And I know that, let me just say something right now. No one on my team has paid to prophesy. I just can't literally copy, edit, print and publish and design a book for you. Without money. And one of the great things is as I was doing this ministry, we did about 37 reports.
For free. I mean, I paid for them all to be mailed and sent out. And so the way our, the way Aqua Regia runs now is when people buy reports, we set, I'm keeping track of money set aside. So that we can then send them to people who don't even know to ask for them. Oh, wow. Um, and so it's a crazy adventure. I feel there's some new iterations of Aquaregia about to begin.
I've been feeling something like a change is about to happen. We might have to go underground again. We'll see. Um, but we've also started doing some consulting. Where I was like, what, like, because we were doing reports for people just to encourage them. That was, that was it. And then solutions kind of started accidentally popping out of them.
And so then I was like, what if we just use the blind method and went after problems? And so, uh, that has been really wild. It's been a very, I'll be honest, messy. Super fulfilling journey. Um, we've been able to be, we've done some, we've done some, uh, cases where we're like, okay, that didn't really work out.
I don't know why. There's a mystery to this. I always manage everyone's expectations. Like, Hey, we want to pursue solutions from heaven for practical earthly purposes. I don't know what's going to happen. Like, just to be honest, like, so enter into the mystery with us, you know, we'll have people. I never tell them what the question is.
I just say something like there's a problem. What's the solution? We they never know who it is and then they They see feel perceive in the spirit. They write down what they get and then we analyze it and interpret it and so But we've also had some crazy miracles, like really cool things happen that we're like, okay, there's something here and I love it.
And I got to tell you, I, it makes me get up in the morning and I'm like, my biggest heart is I want to like disrupt terror, like an acts of war and reveal the kingdom. Like that is where I want to go with this. Um, yeah, we're we're in the baby stages. Yeah.
[01:40:22] Terry: Yeah, I can tell just. Looking at you talk about this, Lindsey, like this, this does, this does just get you up.
This is this you, you have found kind of like your passion and your purpose. And I love it. I love it. You know, like you said, it's finding the answers from heaven, um, and, and bringing them down to these earthly problems and, and to encourage people. I mean, that's a big part of prophecy, right? It's to encourage people and absolutely love.
What you guys are doing with, with aqua regia, where can people go if they're interested, if they want to get a prophetic report themselves, how do they do that?
[01:40:56] Lindsey: You can go to prophetic reports. com. So I have a website that's aqua regia dot gold, but people are like, how do you spell that? So I made another one that's easier to find prophetic reports.
com is where you can find out about that.
[01:41:11] Terry: Yeah. There we go. And I'll link it in the show notes so you guys can find it easily. But, uh, you also, it looks like you and, uh, Chris and Dan and the team just got back from Brazil recently to do School of Prophets over there. Tell us what, what was that like for you?
[01:41:27] Lindsey: Oh, that was incredible. The people of Brazil, how they're so, I love their passion and they're so hungry. And I, I, I got to tell you, just to be on the School of the Prophets team is the great privilege. I kind of joke that I, well, I am the rookie. We joke, I am the rookie. Because a lot of that, you're, you're rolling, rolling with like Chris and Dano and Haley Braun and Ben Armstrong and Bethany Hicks who've been Doing this for a really long time.
And I kind of just sort of crash landed. Um, but I, honestly, I go, I'm still learning like every time, like I'm like, okay. Um, but there is something so powerful when, um, profits come together, um, to teach and release like, um, yeah, I, I really think I've been feeling something stirring. There's something about the Kansas city profits.
Uh, that I learned about that. I feel like God wants to create a new nest like that. And, and once there's, I can't put words to it, but there's something going on. I feel like in the space of like prophetic and the mystical that is at the tipping point right now. Um, and, uh, I, and I feel like you can see it like not to get too off topic, but there's.
Wherever there's a tension, that means God is doing something, whether it's good or bad. I was just reading about this tech startup called Prophetic. Um, and they are coming up with an artificial intelligence device to help people go into lucid dreaming. And I just am like, I'm, I know, there is a lot to say about that.
Okay. Uh, I, when I see stuff like that, I'm like, God, there's something, uh, you're doing something, God, like they're the people. And I feel like God is going to start speaking to people and dreams. No, sorry. God has been speaking to people in dreams of this whole time, the awareness. of dreams, I think is like, we're, I think there's an invitation for the body of Christ.
There's a lot of prophetic training at all the churches and even at School of the Prophets, but I don't think we have enough dream training, like, and if you read the Bible, dreams are a huge part of it everywhere. I mean Joseph was like, okay, I'll stay with you Mary and raise Jesus because of a dream like an angel in a dream Like there's a lot.
Yeah, so I don't know. I I just feel like there's something about be about prophets and raising up other prophets right now and like Yeah, I don't know. I'm excited about it. So yeah. Love Brazil. Um, one of the things someone said to me, they're like, have you been back to Bangkok yet? And I'm like, I have not.
And I need to go. It's my spiritual birthplace. So I'm working on it. I'm like, can we do a school of the prophets in Bangkok? Uh, if someone is in Bangkok listening to this shout out, let's do it.
[01:44:39] Terry: Hook a girl up. Yeah.
[01:44:41] Lindsey: Yeah. Totally. Totally.
[01:44:43] Terry: Wow. I, man, it's, it's been just amazing, Lindsey, being able to hear your story and to see how God has, you know, like we talked about, been connecting these pieces this whole time.
And you would have never in a million years, probably at like 12 years old when you were first getting drunk, think that here you are. You know, however many years later working in the prophetic and working in tandem with God to bring solutions from heaven down to earth. I mean, again, only God could have ripped this story.
And as, as we close up here, Lindsey, I want to go back to Bangkok because there was a part of your story we didn't touch on, but I thought it was really powerful and it involved, 12 year old girl or a teenage girl. At least, um, if you remember that, can you go into that and, um, share that story?
[01:45:33] Lindsey: Yeah. Oh, that was, um, yes.
Uh, so, um, this girl, so one had, uh, right before my big encounter, um, this thing started happening where people in Thailand started giving me gifts. Uh, and I'm a gifts person. I didn't know that then, but I like, I love gifts. I love surprises. And what I realized was God was wooing me. Um, but this one girl, she came up to me and she gave me a wad of cash, um, of baht.
That's the Thai dollar, if you will. And um, I was like, what are you doing? And she said, um, she was like, yeah, she goes, I worked all summer to make this money, which like the ratio of the baht to the dollar is really extreme. Okay. And she was like, and I was on the bus and I saw your face and God told me to give you all this money.
And she even said, why God, I'm not even friends with her. Fair question. Um, and, um, and she just felt like God said that she was supposed to give her money to me. And I sat there so uncomfortable because I am an American. Okay. I make way more. Then this young girl could ever probably make in Thailand. And, um, also I was like, and also I'm kind of a brat.
Like I'll go into a restaurant and I'll be like, I don't want to sit at that table. Cause it doesn't feel right. Can I go over here? Like, so this woman, this young girl. Who's worked all summer to save up this money is trying to give it to me. I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I should give you money. You know what I mean?
And so, uh, there was also a translator. So it was quite the thing. And, um, I, I'm trying to remember exactly. I need to read what I wrote. Cause I wrote it right after it happened, but basically they were, uh, this woman that was translating for, she was like, you have to take this. Like this, she was basically like.
And she goes, I need you to understand that that God is going to teach you a bunch of things that's happening in this moment. And I know that it's humbling, um, but you need to take it. And so I took the money. I remember I let her finally put it in my hands and I cried. I was just like, I do not deserve this.
This is like, what do I like? This was so uncomfortable. Um, and God just kind of started speaking to me kind of about like, no, you don't deserve it. Like, this is my love. Like, this is offensive, um, and, uh, and that was the beginning of the softening and breaking of my heart, uh, towards the love of God. But also the best part of this story is, um, this girl had, I feel like, cause I haven't said her name, I can say this part of the story, but, um, she had not had her period.
There was something going wrong with her and her female that had been. Really, um, a problem, uh, or maybe it was having the period. It wouldn't stop. Now that I think about it, there was a problem. Okay. There's a female problem happening. Um, and there were doctors involved and it was, it was bad. And anyways, after she got the money, it was maybe like a week later.
Um, her body reversed and it was, she moved into healing and actually caught up with us later. She got healed. So there was some sort of beautiful. Thing that happened, which I was like, thank you Jesus But um, but yeah, so it was this beautiful exchange of her of her of this story of sacrifice But also how the kingdom is so upside down Like yes, God will ask somebody To who has less money give you the money who has more why I don't know But but you know what it taught her and me powerful lessons About him, his nature, following him, that I could have only gotten in that moment.
[01:49:55] Terry: it's, it's a beautiful picture. Like you said, of, of God's grace, you know, we get what we don't deserve through, through God's grace. And you know, that, that story illustrates that, that you didn't deserve her money. You didn't even need her money, but you needed to receive that money and, um, you know, as a free gift and that's what grace is for us.
That's what salvation is for us. And so thank you for sharing that story. When I was reading that, I got like goosebumps cause I was just like, just the ties there with, with. Um, with, with grace, uh, is, is just a beautiful picture, just a beautiful picture. And Lindsey, final question for you. We've talked about so much and, and God's goodness is all over your story.
I mean, here's this wild child rave going rebellious, you know, young woman to now be in an absolute boss lady for the kingdom and, and working with the prophetic and, and. Being a solutionary as you reflect on the goodness of God in your life. What comes to mind?
[01:50:58] Lindsey: So many things. Um, honestly, I just, I think one of the things that I'm like the most moved by is just his mercy and his love.
Like I, Um, I, I've done a lot of not great things. Um, and the fact that he just, that he kept pursuing me, like, and like would secretly send like surround me by all these like believers, you know, and, uh, and then, and then trust me with his words, like. You know, I just, um, I'm always a bit overwhelmed with that where I'm like, I can't believe that you like chose me, like that you even wanted me, you know?
And I think, I hope everybody gets to experience like his love is lab fish and it is offensive. And, um, and I want you, I want people to know that because even that maybe you have a problem relative or, you know, someone that's. Doing drugs or uh, Gossiping or not good with money or they're just doing something that feels ugly and gross and i'm gonna tell you that is still God's kid and he loves them and he has a plan for them.
We have to choose it It was a long crazy journey. It took me 34 years to finally choose it I could have avoided a lot of pain had I chosen earlier, but um, I think i'm just kind of like Like, he chose me for the things that Lindsey is called to, and he's chose choosing Terry for the things Terry is called to, and he's choosing your friend for the thing your friend Like, he's choosing us.
Amidst all of our dumb dodo bird gross things we do, he's just like, I love you. It's crazy. He has crazy emoji heart eyes for everybody. If you'll let him talk to you about it, he will nonstop be like that guy over there. Let me tell you what I love about him. What about him? Go talk to him about it. Like he'll just, he'll like nonstop.
Um, and so I just. Yeah, his goodness is his love, like, and his love is good. Not like in LA, there's a lot of talk about love, um, but there's a counterfeit version of it. Like his love is like, I never, I never feel shamed, but I also am like, Oh, I don't want to do that anymore because that doesn't feel like love.
I love you. Thank you. Thank you for showing me that. Like there's just a different, um, and then just, yeah. Yeah. So. That that's what comes to mind and the fact that he was able to take such a messy story and turn it into like His glory like if what he can do with me, like I just know what he's done in my own life I was a hot mess.
So There's a lot of people that could vouch for me on that Yeah. And now, and now I get to reveal that love to other people through the prophetic. It's my favorite.
[01:54:10] Terry: Yeah. It's amazing. It's amazing. I love your story, Lindsey. I love what you're doing. Keep doing it. It is absolutely incredible. It is. It is also much needed.
Um, not just in the church, but outside the church, you know, as well, just, just again, just bringing those answers from heaven and loving on people and showing them Jesus in the prophetic. It's. It's really incredible. I really admire what you and the team do. So keep doing what you're doing. Again, this has been such an honor.
Thank you so much for taking the time to come on and share your story.
[01:54:41] Lindsey: Yeah. Thank you for having me. It's my favorite story to tell. Party girl becomes prophetic girl. Don't underestimate what Jesus can do. Amen.
[01:54:53] Terry: Amen. Yeah.
Yeah.
